Blackberry Creek Artists began with three friends
establishing a studio and then a gallery in Dawsonville, Georgia. The Blackberry
Creek Gallery was in existence four years attracting numerous talented artists.
When the gallery disbanded, the three founding artists invited seven of the
gallery artists to join them in forming Blackberry Creek Artists. The purpose of
the group is to promote their work individually and collectively. Meeting
monthly for critiques of their works in progress, the group additionally seeks
out opportunities to exhibit their work and have done so throughout the region.
All of the artists live and work in Dawson County, in the foothills of the Blue
Ridge Mountains of Georgia. They work in various mediums including oils,
watercolor, acrylic, pastels, multi-media and sculpture. Subject matter is a
varied as their mediums, but they all share a love of art and a joy in sharing
it with others. These award-winning artists exhibit their work in various
galleries and juried shows around the country.
